1 SPOT Technology
1 SPOT Technology… what does that mean and why should I care? Technically, it’s switching power supply technology, which is very different than what anyone has ever put inside a power brick. Normally, you would find just a big transformer and a handful of small electronic components inside a power brick… old tech that hasn’t changed in decades and has a lot of limitations. Truetone took the same triple filtered switching power supply technology found in Truetone's famous 1 SPOT and scaled it up to make the 1 SPOT Pro models. With much more space to work with, Truetone was able to completely eliminate noise, provide total electrical isolation between outputs, create multiple voltages, and still give you the ability to use it anywhere in the world.
A major benefit of using a switching power supply is that it can handle far more current (power being pulled out of it) than any transformer-based power supply. Although Truetone had to put power rating labels on each output to satisfy certification agencies (yes, Truetone actually certified these, unlike many companies), the outputs can generally handle far more than the label shows. For example, you can connect a 300mA pedal to a 200mA output, without causing any problems. With a transformer-based power supply, you can’t get away with that. The important thing is to not exceed the total of all the labels. With a CS7 (for example), the output labels add up to 1900mA total. That means the total current draw of all your pedals should be less than 1900mA.
Multiple Voltages (CS Series only)
Truetone recognizes that not all guitar pedals run off 9V. That’s why all 1 SPOT Pro models have outputs that can put out 9Vdc, 12Vdc or 18Vdc. The CS12 even has a variable voltage output for old-style fuzz pedals, and a 9Vac output for certain Line6 and Digitech pedals. And if you need to change the voltage of an output, Truetone also makes inexpensive converter cables to help you. There’s the Voltage Doubler, which does exactly what its name says, and the 18V to 9V Converter... which also does what its name says. They don’t have the most clever names, but they get the job done!
Worldwide input voltage
Just like with the original 1 SPOT, (and your laptop power supply and phone charger), the 1 SPOT Pro uses switching power supply technology which allows you to use it anywhere in the world. The 1 SPOT Pro won’t leave you stranded at your first international gig!

Pure Isolation
Since pioneering the first switching power supply for musicians, the original 1 SPOT, Truetone gained many years of experience in creating very low noise power for pedals. When Truetone started designing the 1 SPOT Pro, the first multiple output switching power supply, Truetone worried a lot about how to eliminate noise completely. Isolation is part of the solution to noise elimination, but not all of it. Each output is galvanically isolated from the other to help give you pure, clean, noise-free operation of your pedals. However, Truetone also provided an additional layer of pure analog regulation, taking advantage of the greater ability of analog circuits to provide the highest possible suppression of in-band audio noise. There is an artistry involved in these designs, and it’s come at the price of decades of hard work. But all of this put together is what Truetone call Pure Isolation.

Both solutions for powering pedals were very inefficient with energy, with batteries also contributing greatly to the toxic waste stream. The 1 SPOT power supply was designed to replace many such external power supplies and/or batteries simultaneously. The 1 SPOT Pro CS11 includes a generous assortment of cables and converter plugs. The cables are of various lengths, color-coded for easy cable management and with right angle plugs on the pedal end.

Which output and settings do I use for my pedals?
It is important for you to know the power requirements for your pedal. For every pedal that you are going to power via the 1 SPOT Pro CS11, you need to know the following:
- What is the voltage required by the pedal?
- Does the pedal require AC or DC voltage?
- What is the polarity of the pedal? (Center pin positive or negative.)
These questions can usually be answered by:
- Inspecting the pedal itself near the power jack.
- Referring to the owner’s manual.
- Checking online, or contacting the manufacturer
- If your pedal can be powered by a 9Vdc battery, it can be powered by one of the 9Vdc outputs ( an exception being the Boss ACA pedals, see below).
Notes on using certain pedals with the 1 SPOT Pro CS11:
- Older Boss pedals marked “ACA” use outputs 5 or 6, set to 12Vdc. Newer Boss units marked “PSA” can be used with any 9Vdc output.
- For pedals with a current draw higher than 400mA, please utilize outputs 1,2,10 or 11. To be sure about the current draw of your pedals, please use a Truetone mA Meter, sold separately.
- Eventide Factor pedals and H9/H90 may be powered by any output with a rating of 250mA or higher, with the addition of the CL6 converter for proper DC jack tip size and polarity.
- Line 6 M9 may be powered by outputs 1,2,10 or 11, but will also require the CL6 converter.
- Line 6 M5 may be powered by outputs 1,2,10 or 11, without a converter plug.
- Line 6 HX series and POD Go require a C2.5 converter. Please note, although they can be powered by outputs 1,2,10 or 11, it is recommended to power them from 2 of those outputs combined using a Truetone MC2 cable (included) to split the current load.
- If additional analog 9Vdc pedals need to be powered, a Truetone Multi-Plug cable (sold separately) may be connected to any of the 9Vdc outputs depending on mA draw. If additional pedals need isolation, you may purchase a Truetone XP5 or XP8 expansion box which connects to the 12Vdc jack on the back panel. The XP5 has 5 isolated and filtered outputs, while the XP8 has 8.
- Pedals that do not have a power jack, yet are powered normally by a 9Vdc battery, may utilize any 9Vdc output, along with the CBAT converter.
- Digitech Whammy: Version 5 or Whammy DT may be powered by outputs 1,2,10 or 11. Versions 1-4 cannot be powered by a CS11, unless you purchase the optional Truetone ACY-US cable (North America only) and use the original Digitech Whammy power supply.
- Radial Tonebone 15Vdc pedals can be powered by outputs 3 or 4, switched to 18Vdc, using the Reverse Polarity Converter (CYR) included with the 1 SPOT Pro.

Shipping items with tubes
Bananas does not warranty tubes in transit. We offer tube removal and individual bubble wrap service for $45 per customer request (for standard amps, more complex amps that take more time may be a higher fee). Customers buying any tube product and having it shipped should understand and realize that Bananas cannot be responsible for damaged tubes from transit. This applies to all new and used products. Certain manufactures offer a tube warranty on their new products as a courtesy, and that is available thru the manufacturer warranty process for all new products where it applies.

Is a CPS Warranty just an extension of the existing manufacturer’s warranty?
Actually, it’s an upgrade to your existing manufacturer’s warranty. A CPS Warranty offers benefits that aren’t offered by manufacturers like accidental damage & free shipping to and from the repair facility.
What’s the difference between a Replacement Plan and Repair Plan?
A Replacement Plan is available for products under $150. If the product fails, you will receive a replacement through Bananas.
A Repair Plan is for products over $150 and offers free repair coverage for your product any time during the life of your warranty. If we can’t fix it, we’ll replace it!
How am I covered?
For the Replacement Plan, your coverage provides for a one-time replacement of the covered product.
For the Repair Plan, you are covered for a period of up to five years (depending on which plan you purchase). Benefits include parts and labor for required repairs on your product.
When does my warranty coverage start?
Coverage begins on the 31st calendar day from when you purchased your product.
Can I transfer the Protection Plan to a new owner?
Yes! CPS Warranties are transferable between owners.
What if I Need to Return my Product?
If you return your product, Bananas returns the money you paid for the product protection plan. Depending on how much time has passed since your purchase, CPS may issue a prorated refund.
Is my product covered if it’s stolen or if I lose it?
Unfortunately the CPS Warranty does not cover lost or stolen products.
Is there a service fee?
Zero dollar service fee for the Replacement Plans and the Repair Plans.
