The legendary LA-based supergroup featuring Sammy Hagar & Michael Anthony of Van Halen on vocals & bass, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers on drums, and the silver surfer himself Joe Satriani on guitar. They released two phenomenal studio albums, Chickenfoot & Chickenfoot III, both charting and selling tens of thousands copies worldwide, and with the success of each album came a subsequent tour. In Joe’s words, Chickenfoot was assembled by accident, eventually realizing they were a band after months of having a blast jamming and writing together, and from there they knew they wanted to record an album. After they recorded that amazing first album Chickenfoot, designed their logo, and as the artwork was being finalized, Satriani hatched an idea: he wanted to design a series of guitars for he and his bandmates to play on tour. So he connected with the Ibanez Custom Shop in LA and began prototyping. The artwork on the guitar was designed by hand, by long-time collaborator Todd Gallopo at Meat and Potatoes based in Burbank, CA. Joe and Todd closely worked with Ibanez to make these tour-ready, beautiful guitars to rock out on, and to look cool doing it. The first two guitars, the 22-fret black-on-white/white-on-black guitars built for Chickenfoot’s first album tour, are nearly identical. These models have a PAF Joe pickup in the neck position, and a Mojo pickup in the bridge position. They both feature a highpass filter, coil-splitting, speed knobs, and a stripe on a “60’s strat-style neck” with medium jumbo frets; as Joe puts it, these were some of the most comfortable necks he’s played on, and they were particularly made for “90% shredding”, if you can believe that coming from Satriani himself...


The second pair of guitars, the 24-fret red-on-blue/blue-on-red guitars built for Chickenfoot’s second album tour, are somehow more unique. The artwork on the guitar can be viewed with 3D lenses, just like the artwork for Chickenfoot III. The blue is armed with a Sustainiac pickup in the neck position, and both come with modified Satchur8 pickups in the bridge positions. For the purists, the original Mojo pickups that were in the bridge positions on the guitars both come with the set as some extra case candy. These guitars come strung with 11s and are tuned to D standard for a thick, rich tone, as they were last played on the Howard Stern show with the Best Of All Worlds tour band with Sammy Hagar in 2024.

- Any New item (other than as noted below) purchased from Bananas at Large may be returned within 14 days of the invoice date, for a full refund, exchange or credit.
- All Pre-Owned products may be returned in 48 hours.
