This edition of Taylor's all-new Gold Label 814e adds a lustrous sunburst finish to match its seasoned, heritage-style sound and lush overtones. Featuring the new Super Auditorium body shape, this model boasts back and sides of Honduran rosewood, a torrefied Sitka spruce top and a fanned variant of Taylor's tone-boosting V-Class bracing architecture. The result is a sound with stunning warmth and richness, complemented with remarkable power and clarity even with the most aggressive attack. A new long-tenon neck joint improves sonic transfer for greater resonance while also offering even easier and more precise adjustability, letting you dial in the feel you need to sound your best. A suite of Continental inlays, grained ivoroid trim, a new pickguard, antique chrome Gotoh 510 tuners with ebony buttons, and a full-body gloss round out the package. Super Auditorium Body: Building on the versatility, balance and clarity that players have come to love from Bob Taylor’s Grand Auditorium body shape, consider the Super Auditorium an evolution of that playing experience that incorporates all the benefits of the V-Class bracing architecture developed by Andy Powers. With curves and contours that draw on Bob’s design but with a slightly longer body and wider lower bout, the Super Auditorium will feel familiar while adding a new sonic dimension inspired by guitars from the 1930s and ’40s. With a focus on warmth, the Super Auditorium produces an open, blooming voice that produces room-filling tone with a light touch while gaining power as you dig in. Inside, a fanned V-Class variant enhances the depth and resonance, enhancing the volume and sustain while ensuring pitch accuracy all the way up the neck.

Honduran Rosewood Body Wood: Extremely dense compared to other rosewood species, Honduran rosewood sings with a uniquely smooth voice that makes it worthy of Taylor's finest guitars.

Sound: Honduran rosewood has rich heritage in the world of acoustic instruments, highly valued as the wood of choice for marimba bars and now an ingredient in some of Taylor’s finest guitars.

Considerably denser than Indian rosewood, Honduran rosewood has an extremely low damping factor, which contributes to a supremely textured, harmonically complex tone. You’ll hear the warm low end and sparkling, chime-like trebles that you’d expect from other rosewood species, along with a smoothness that stands out from other hardwoods. Overtones are lush and bloom out as notes sustain while maintaining enough clarity to ensure you can cut to the front of a mix when needed.

Goes Well With: A wide range of playing styles and genres, from Americana to blues to fingerpicking applications and beyond. Pairs especially well with a sinker redwood top, which adds midrange heft and even greater warmth.

Sitka Spruce Top Wood: As a guitar soundboard, or top, Sitka spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. It’s used on 85-90 percent of the guitars that Taylor makes. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. Sitka spruce is Bob Taylor’s personal favorite for an all-around great guitar.

   1. Curbside Contactless Pickup: When you arrive at the store location, call us and we will bring your order out to verify your ID, place in your vehicle and you're ready to go!
   2. Pick up In Store: Come into the store, show your ID, and pick up your order.

How does it work?

After you place your order online, the selected store receives your order. Then the merchandise is selected from the store's current inventory and prepared for pick up. If the items are located at another store, there may be a longer wait time as we need to transfer it to the pickup location of your choice. This is all part of our free service. We'll contact you when it's ready and notify you if anything changes. Once your order is ready, you can choose to come into the store to pick up your order OR call us when you arrive and we will provide Contactless Curbside Pickup at your vehicle.

Shipping items with tubes

Bananas does not warranty tubes in transit. We offer tube removal and individual bubble wrap service for $45 per customer request (for standard amps, more complex amps that take more time may be a higher fee). Customers buying any tube product and having it shipped should understand and realize that Bananas cannot be responsible for damaged tubes from transit. This applies to all new and used products. Certain manufactures offer a tube warranty on their new products as a courtesy, and that is available thru the manufacturer warranty process for all new products where it applies.
